B. 1994

Afiqah graduated with a Diploma in Western Painting at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at The School of Creative Arts and Media, University of Tasmania, Australia. She is currently working as an Atelierista at an International Pre-school as well as a Freelance Art Instructor at an art studio in Singapore. She has over 7 years of experience teaching art to children and adults in several art studios across Singapore.


Afiqah inscribes a variety of medium and methods into her practice. A mixture of painting and drawing, her work constitutes the notion of temporality - the existence and perception of self and space in real time, capturing the intimacy and surreality within the temporary. In such that she works around the subjectivity of light with subtle yet dramatic nuances, experimenting with transparency and extreme light.


Afiqah has recently taken part in the 42nd UOB Painting of the Year (2023) and was awarded Gold in the Emerging Artist Category for Singapore. She also had the opportunity to collaborate with Pan Pacific Group for the Food x Art Collaboration and has held a chocolate art workshop hosted by Janice Wong x UOB Group.


She is also an illustrator for children’s books written by a Malaysian writer, Josephyne Ho who is also the principal in one of EtonHouse Pre-Schools. Afiqah has illustrated 3 books-

My daddy is the best, My Mommy loves me More, and My Grandpas, my Birding Buddies.
